Greetings Durkin Park Families,

This week’s updates can be found below:

Morning Arrival and Afternoon Dismissal

• Please do not move or drive around the traffic horses.
• Do not block interactions or crosswalks.
• Do not enter the staff parking lot in your car or on foot

Yard Signs

• We have new yard signs available for parent pick-up at no cost. Yard signs can be picked up by parents from the security desk at door one or the main office. Limit one sign per household.

Mobile Clinic

• Durkin Park will be hosting a medical clinic on January 16th.
• This is an opportunity for students to receive physical examinations and immunizations.

Middle of Year (MOY) Testing

• Throughout the month of January students in various grade-levels will be taking their MOY.
• Test dates are listed below, please make every effort to have your child in attendance on their test date.
• Test Dates
  • Kindergarten: 1/16, 1/17
  • 1st Grade: 1/17, 1/18, 1/23
  • 2nd Grade: 1/17, 1/18, 1/23, 1/24
  • 3rd Grade: 1/23, 1/24
  • 4th Grade: 1/17, 1/18
  • 5th Grade: 1/17, 1/18, 1/24
  • 6th Grade: 1/17, 1/23
  • 7th Grade: 1/17, 1/18
  • 8th Grade: 1/17, 1/18

Intermediate Dance

• The annual 5th & 6th Grade Dance will be held on January 26th, 2024 from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
• The event will cost $5.
• Additional event details will be shared by your child’s teacher.

Uniforms

• Sweatshirts have been delivered and can be ordered here.
• Durkin Park sweatshirts are the only top layer permitted by the uniform policy. Students will be asked to remove non-Durkin Park sweatshirts, hoodies, sweaters and jackets starting next week.

School Events:

• Durkin Park has several regularly scheduled meetings that provide parents an opportunity to stay informed as well as provide feedback on school matters. Please mark your calendars for the following:
  • Durkin Park Local School Council: February 15th 3:30 PM, April 18th 3:30 PM, May 30th 3:30 PM
  • Local School Council Candidate Forum: March 13th, 2024, 4:30 PM
  • Durkin Park PAC/BAC: February 6th 8:15 AM, March 5th 8:15 AM, April 2nd 8:15 AM, May 5th 8:15 AM.
  • Coffee with the Principal: February 6th 8:30 AM, March 5th 8:30 AM, April 2nd 8:30 AM, May 5th 8:30 AM.

Señales de jardín

• Tenemos nuevos cartelones para el jardín listos para que los padres los recojan sin costo alguno en el mostrador de seguridad en la puerta uno o en la oficina principal. Límite de un letrero por hogar.

Clínica Móvil

• Durkin Park albergará una clínica médica el 16 de enero.
• Esta es una oportunidad para que los estudiantes reciban exámenes físicos y vacunas.

Pruebas de mitad de año (MOY)

Baile de Niveles Intermedio

• El baile anual de 5.o y 6.o grado se llevará a cabo el 26 de enero del 2024 de 3:30 - 5:00 PM.
• El evento costará $5.
• El maestro de su hijo compartirá detalles adicionales del evento.

Uniformes

• Las sudaderas han sido entregadas y se pueden pedir aquí.
• Las sudaderas de Durkin Park son la única capa superior permitida por la política de uniformes. A partir de la próxima semana, se pedirá a los estudiantes que se quiten las sudaderas, sudaderas con capucha, suéteres y chaquetas que no sean de Durkin Park.

Eventos escolares:
