School Wide Attendance

• School wide attendance is at 93.7%. This is an improvement from last week, but still short of our 96% attendance goal. Please make sure your child is here, everyday, ready and on-time. .

No School

• In recognition of Veteran’s Day, Durkin Park will be closed on Friday, November 10th

Ms. Hernandez Parent Worksop

• Dates: Tuesday, November 14th, 8:00 AM in the Multipurpose Room
• Parents will engage in learning about the CCSS standards and their alignment with district and state assessments.
• This workshop will enhance parent's ability to support and extend their children's learning at home.

Uniforms

• Sweatshirts have been delivered and can be ordered here.
• Durkin Park sweatshirts are the only top layer permitted by the uniform policy. Students will be asked to remove non-Durkin Park sweatshirts, hoodies, sweaters and jackets starting next week.

Folkloric Dance

• We are currently looking for a parent or community member to develop and run a Folkloric Dance after-school program for students from January-May.
  
• Program days are flexible.

• 5th & 6th Grade Boys Soccer vs Tarkington Elementary

• 5th & 6th Girls Volleyball vs Kellogg Elementary

• Durkin Park has several regularly scheduled meetings that provide parents an opportunity to stay informed as well as provide feedback on school matters. Please mark your calendars for the following:
  • Durkin Park Local School Council: December 14th 3:30 PM, February 15th 3:30 PM, April 18th 3:30 PM, May 30th 3:30 PM
  • Durkin Park PAC/BAC: December 5th 8:15 AM, January 9th 8:15 AM, February 6th 8:15 AM, March 5th 8:15 AM, April 2nd 8:15 AM, May 5th 8:15 AM.
  • Coffee with the Principal: December 5th 8:30 AM, January 9th 8:30 AM, February 6th 8:30 AM, March 5th 8:30 AM, April 2nd 8:30 AM, May 5th 8:30 AM.
  • State of the School Address: November 13th, 4:00 PM.
